A huge 'thank you' to well-wisher who sent a box of treats for the women we support

Our Avril with the donated items

We had a lovely surprise in the post last week - a packed parcel of everyday essentials for the women we support.

An anonymous donor had filled the box with soaps, shampoos and creams and posted it to our office in London Road, Leicester.

As ever, we will ensure these items go to those most in need, including women who are homeless and destitute.

Avril Lewis, our crisis intervention worker, said: "We were delighted when we saw what was inside the box.

"We have no idea who sent these items to us but we can see they chose them with great care.

"These items will be lovely treats for the girls who come here. They have to prioritise and many of them could not afford to buy these things for themselves."
