We are very proud of the counselling training we provide here at the New Futures Project -so we are delighted to announce new opportunities to learn with us are just around the corner.
Crucially, all of our courses are externally validated and accredited by the Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body, (CPCAB).
Teaching sessions take place at our home in London Road - near Leicester railway station on the outskirts of the city centre.
In response to growing demand, we can confirm that our latest Level 2 certificate in counselling skills will begin on Monday, June 22, running from 6pm to 9pm.
Our Level 3 certificate in counselling studies gets underway on a date to be confirmed in July. Classes will take place on Tuesday evenings, also between 6pm and 9pm.
You will find application forms, fees and other course details here on our website.
Our director Della Kagure Brown said: "We are aware that demand for good quality, effective counselling in Leicester continues to increase.
"We are very proud to be able to contribute to the training of local counsellors to meet that demand.
"Our training courses are delivered by tutors who have a passion both for the profession and the work of our organisation, so trainees will gain a real understanding of how to work with women and young people who have experienced trauma and abuse.
"We believe training with us offers a unique experience and a brilliant opportunity for a new and fulfilling career."

Trish Maguire, one of our tutors and a tutor mentor, added: "I invite students who want to grow in confidence, deepen their empathy, and develop real counselling skills in a supportive, nurturing environment.
"If you’re ready to invest in yourself and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others, this course is the start of that journey.
"I warmly welcome anyone who wants to better understand themselves and others, build confidence, and learn how to truly listen in a safe and supportive space.
"If you’re looking for a place where you’ll be encouraged, valued, and guided every step of the way, this could be the beginning of your new future."
We had been planning for several years to offer this training, not least to generate income for the project and to help train a new generation of therapists.
We are running two Level 4 CPCAB Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling courses this year, in June and September, however places are limited. Contact us for further information.
We welcomed our first students in November 2023 – an achievement which was 'the culmination of a dream’ for our director, Della.
The income generated by the courses supports our work with some of the most abused and socially-excluded women and young people in our community, including those who are living with the traumatic legacy of sexual abuse and exploitation.
We asked our students to write about their experiences of our teaching.
One of them, Rose, told us: "I’d recommend New Futures, as it’s a supportive learning environment with tutors who really know what they’re talking about.
"There is a high quality of teaching, and it’s personalised, practical, and purposeful.
"They’re not afraid to dig a little deeper, so you can get a true understanding of what it means to be a counsellor."
