We're capping the cost of our counselling service because we can see people are struggling

We recognise that people are struggling at the moment, not least because of the continuing ‘cost of living crisis’.
And then, there’s frightening state of the world and the general pessimism that has created.
So, we have decided to cap – for as long as we can manage - the fees we charge clients who use our affordable counselling service.
The fees we receive from this service help us fund our broader crisis work with some of the most vulnerable and exploited women and girls in our community.
This includes those who are living with the traumatic and enduring consequences of sexual assault, exploitation, or domestic violence.
Last month, we reported that we are working with more counsellors than ever, meaning we are supporting more clients than at any point in our history.
If you are trying to cope alone with poor mental health and emotional difficulties, then we think we can help you.
Our director Della Kagure Brown said: "We know people are struggling at the moment.
"There is a lot of hardship and conflict in the world, and this is making people feel anxious and unsettled.
"We want to do our bit to help those who are struggling. So, we have decided we can cap, for now, the cost of our affordable counselling service at £20 for each session."

To be sure we can support as many people as we can and irrespective of where they live, our counselling is available face-to-face or online.
Clients who live locally can visit us at our home in London Road - just across the road from Leicester railway station - while those who cannot make it into the city can log-in from home.
If you are uncertain about the cost, please speak to us and we will explain how we structure things.
Previously, Della said: "Lots of people recognise counselling may improve their lives but are worried about the cost.
"We believe counselling should be accessible to anyone who needs it and we’ve found a way to make it affordable for just about everyone.
"So, please contact us and let’s talk."
You can self-refer to our service by completing this form on our website.
Next, you will be invited to attend an online assessment session online with one of our assessors.
This session, which costs £20 and will take around 45 minutes, helps us identify what we need to do to help you and which of our counsellors would be most suitable for you.
Our services are provided by qualified counsellors and those in training, working closely with both the CPCAB and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, (BACP), to ensure all counselling we provide is ethical and fit for purpose.
The New Futures Project offers a comprehensive welfare and counselling service for women and young people dealing with sexual abuse or exploitation, domestic violence, trafficking, poverty and debt, substance use or mental ill-health.
