We need to fill an important vacancy in our outreach team - the amazing volunteers who head out each week to support women involved in street sex work.
These are some of the most socially excluded and vulnerable women we encounter in the course of our work.
They are caught up in a cycle of violence and exploitation, and it is essential we do all we can win their trust and ensure we are there for them when they need us.
Working between between 6.30pm and 10.30pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, the outreach team brings food and drink to the women where they are working.
They also speak to them about issues of sexual health and personal safety.
Overall, we want to build a trusting relationship with them and get to know each individual and establish what we need to do to help them now and in the longer-term
We need to find one, possibly two women who would be prepared to drive their own vehicle to and from the spots the team visits, all of which are a short distance from the city centre.
This form of outreach was central to our purpose when we created the New Futures Project 25 years ago.
In fact, staff and students at Leicester's De Montfort University made a film about it a few years ago.
It illustrates perfectly what the outreach team does and how their work dovetails with our drop-in service, which operates during daytime.
Late last year, we announced our plan to rejuvenate the service by building a team of volunteers to help us carry it out.
Della Kagure Brown, director of the New Futures Project said: "It makes such a difference to the women we support who live and/or work on the street who say us being out makes their evening safer and more bearable.
"It's such a rewarding role too, so I would urge anyone who might be interested in joining our outreach team to please get in touch."
We will provide training for new members of the team and cover their expenses.
The New Futures Project offers a comprehensive welfare and counselling service for women and young people dealing with sexual abuse or exploitation, domestic violence, trafficking, poverty and debt, substance use or mental ill-health.
