We have a new friend in the business world.
They’re called Myonex and they dropped by recently with a wonderful donation – 10 large boxes of everyday essentials for New Futures clients.
Furthermore, they have another 10 boxes still to come.
Myonex is a global leader in providing integrated clinical and commercial services to support the advancement of life-saving medicine.
The UK site of the company got in touch with us a few months ago in response to our Big Business Appeal.
We had contacted approximately 180 of the biggest firms in the city and wider county to ask them to support our life-changing work in any way they could think of.
Being able to support some of the most vulnerable women in their home town felt like a great opportunity to them, the company told us.
Charley Benns, a member of the Myonex UK HR team, said: “When looking to partner with a charity for a social and engagement event for our employees at Myonex, it was important to us to choose a local charity whose values align with our own.
“The New Futures Project reached out to us just at the right time and brought this incredible charity to our attention.”
Matt Grace, site head in Leicester and VP Clinical Trial Drug Sourcing, added: “It was an easy decision for us to choose to support The New Futures Project, a charity doing vital work to support vulnerable women across Leicestershire and Rutland in a multitude of ways.”
Our director, Della Kagure Brown said: “We are so grateful to the wonderful people at Myonex. They are amazing.
“They have made a very thoughtful donation of practical and luxury items. It’s really important the women here feel cared for and this donation does just that.”
The project and the women we support rely on such acts of generosity. Should any potential donors need some inspiration, this is what Myonex put in the boxes:
Deodorant (roll-on)
Shower gel
Dry shampoo
Shampoo

Antibacterial hand gel
Water wipes
Feminine wipes
Tampons
Sanitary towels

Toothbrush
Body cream
Sleeping bag
